What is LIQUIFI?

 

LIQUIFI is a “glitch/ambient” effects processor that turns any audio signal into a malleable, liquid sound. Its core functionality is based on real-time spectral resynthesis and a powerful pitch corrector, giving you the power to freeze, chop, and deconstruct audio with unparalleled control.

At its heart, LIQUIFI uses an FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) algorithm to analyze the frequency data of an incoming audio signal. This data is then used to drive a sinebank that re-synthesizes the sound. This process allows for effects like spectral granulation and harmonic smoothing, while retaining the original signal’s characteristics.

What makes LIQUIFI truly unique is its powerful autotune. It quantizes the spectral data to one of 24 musical scales, providing a “singing” effect on any source—from drums to synths and vocals. The result is a highly expressive sound that can be both raw and harmonic.

LIQUIFI is designed for real-time use, with a virtual trackpad and keyboard that let you control modulations and “punch-in effect” events on the fly. You can manipulate pitch-shifting, filtering, and scale changes, creating “living” and dynamic sound environments. The result is a liquid blend of spectral processing, animated reverb, and digital degradation, capable of turning any source into a unique and fluid sonic experience.

IGNITA is a simplified, polyphonic sampler synth with a granular synthesis engine and a unique aleatory (random) sample launching system. It’s the ideal source for LIQUIFI, generating a constantly evolving stream of sounds. With a “lottery of sounds” workflow, IGNITA ensures every result is different, ranging from rich and atmospheric to weird and unexpected.

The synth uses two merged sampler signals to rearrange embedded analog, digital, and acoustic tones, producing a dynamic palette of evolving textures and fascinating soundscapes. Coupled with LIQUIFI, this combo forms a truly modern synthesis design station, providing a complete workflow for experimental and contemporary music. The LIQUIFI & IGNITA combo ensemble includes a playable collection of 70 presets, offering a vast field of possibilities for exploration and musical creation.
